Viviane Van Giesen is originally from Porto Alegre, Brazil. She received her BA in Fine Arts at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande Do Sul in Porto Alegre, Brazil, in 1986. In 1983 she received a full scholarship from Rotary for a one-year study at the Art School at the University of Georgia. In 1991 she moved back to Athens and returned to UGA to study Graphic Design. In 1995, Viviane and her husband Eddie formed Van Giesen Landscape Design Company.
After a artistic hiatus, she studied under Kie Johnson, a master watercolorist from Watkinsville Georgia, and was motivated to pursue her love for watercolor. Since then, being around fabulous teachers and through the contact of talented artists and friends she is once again expressing herself through art and being at peace with her need to paint.
Viviane is a Georgia Watercolor Society Signature Member.
